Meier’s Lake Roadhouse is located at Mile 170 on Richardson Highway #4, 55 miles north of Glennallen and 16 miles south of Paxson, right on beautiful Meier’s Lake.  Situated in the breathtaking Alaska Range foothills in the Copper River Valley, Meier’s Lake Roadhouse offers motel rooms, lodge accommodations, bunkhouse group lodging, rustic log cabins, dry pull-through RV sites and tent camping, surrounded by absolutely nothing but the peace and quiet of forest and lake.  Meier’s Lake Roadhouse is a leisurely four-hour drive from Fairbanks to the north or three hours from Valdez to the south, and is a lovely place to wrap up a road trip through scenery considered some of the most beautiful in Alaska.

Meier’s Lake Roadhouse features a great restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner which serves up enormous stacked hamburgers and wonderful German crepes.  We also have a friendly lounge and bar, liquor store, convenience store and Tosoro gas station. Travelers can buy fuel, groceries, gifts, hunting and fishing licenses and rent boats. We also provide welcome showers, a laundromat and RV dump station.  Meier’s Lake Roadhouse is pet friendly and open year-round.

Charles Meier worked as a cook for Alvin Paxson, who in 1906 established the Timberline Roadhouse at Mile 192.  After tiring of that arrangement, Meier left to build his own roadhouse a few miles down the road at the lake, which was subsequently named for him.  Built in 1920, the original Catholic church still stands on the property and is in use.  The new Meier’s Lake Roadhouse, which occupies Charles Meier’s original site, consists of two new log buildings with large, quiet, clean and comfortable rooms and a number of the original buildings, which also provide accommodation options.
